It might seem a little ridiculous, but by regularly taking some time out of your day to just breathe deeply and slowly can work wonders for your overall jaw health.

A lot of the pain in your jaw comes from built up tension from stress and other things. By relieving your body of this tension, your jaw is able to relax and function normally.

So to do this, take 5-10 minute; find a quiet place to lie down and just concentrate on breathing slowly. While doing this, try to relax every muscles in your body as much as possible everytime you breathe out.

This form of relaxation is incredibly powerful and can have amazing benefits for not only your physical health, but mental health.

Also, if you work in a high stress environment or you’re stressed at home, try and find ways to reduce the stress.

It’s often impossible to completely avoid it, but by taking a little break and doing a shorter version of the previously mentioned relaxation exercises; you can really take the hedge off.

These are one of the most effective ways to treat TMJ. Unfortunately some people have incredibly severe TMJ symptoms; including frequently dislocating jaws and severe teeth grinding.
