Do TMJ jaw exercises actually work? Yes they do! But you do need to know which exercises to do for your particular situation. It’s not exactly a one size fits all thing here.
These exercises work by relaxing your muscles and realigning your jaw so no undue stress is inflicted upon the important areas of your mouth. They will reduce stress and pain very quickly and leave you feeling great. Some people have reported being completely pain free just three days after doing these exercises. Why aren’t all dentists teaching these exercises?
The truth is dentists are much happier to charge you upwards of $300 for mouth guards and a bit more for some pain relief drugs and send you on your way. But luckily you don’t need to spend this much and you can relieve your TMJ symptoms at home. You want to get the right exercises though, some may be more effective than others depending on what your symptoms are.
